Demand for quality technical education and quality manpower is an opportunity as well as a challenge. Moreover in the present state of affairs, where industry is undergoing a qualitative change, with the onset of globalization, attitudinal switch over from protective to competitive is a must. Govt. Polytechnic College, is the premier and the pioneer institute serving the state since last 52 years and is well known for grabbing the opportunities and meeting the challenges in their true spirit. As we all agree that acceptability of the product in a highly competitive market is perhaps the major index of the quality of the product.

Government Polytechnic College , is the pioneer institute imparting technical education to women folk in the state of Punjab since 1970. Right from its inception the Institute has been giving academically responsive students to the industry. Its team of qualified and experienced teachersimbibes their students with the qualities like initiative and leadership combined with the spirit of dedication and service.

Govt. Polytechnic for Women Jalandhar was setup in 1970 under the ages of Department of Industries and Industrial Training Punjab. However in January 1986, the operational control of this Polytechnic was shifted to the of Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training (Technical Education Wing) Punjab. All the courses are affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education Punjab and are approved by A.I.C.T.E and the board provides all courses’ testimonials to pass out candidates. The courses run here are most suited to students dexterity and have great job potential.
