



About the Department: Department of Pharmacyis established in the year 1971 and is affiliated to Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training (Technical Education Wing), Punjab. Here we offer Diploma in Pharmacy, which is a two years duration course approved byPharmacy Council of India. After passing the course the student is entitled as registered pharmacist.

5. Model Pharmacy
1) Pharmaceutics Lab: These laboratories provide knowledge about the manufacturing of pharmaceutical preparations and drug formulations like tablets, capsules, parenterals, ointments, creams, eye drops, syrups etc.
2) Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab: This lab deals testing and identification of various chemicals and drugs as well as synthesis and purification of chemical compounds.
3) Physiology, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy Lab: This lab conducts identification and organoleptic evaluation of crude and natural drugs. This lab provides the understanding of different systems of Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology with tools like models, charts, permanent slides, bones, skeletons, diagnostic kits etc. This lab also provides the knowledge of general pharmacology, drug dose, mechanism of action of drugs, screening of drugs, etc.
4) Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy Lab: This lab is meant for analysis of biological samples like urine, blood, sugars, amino acids, cholesterol, fats and other chemicals of biological importance. This lab is also utilized to teach about the dispensing of the drugs in a hospital by a pharmacist and about community pharmacy practice.
5) Model Pharmacy : The community model pharmacy gives a unique image pf the pharmacy and tells student about requirements that must be met when opening a pharmacy.
